AMERICAN RED CROSS Lifeguarding Instructor Trainer Review Course 2024
NOTE: A MINIMUM OF 5 CANDIDATES ARE NEEDED TO RUN THIS COURSE REGISTRATION and TUITION INFORMATION: THIS COURSE MAY BE TAUGHT IN A HYBRID FORMAT (IN-PERSON AND ON-LINE) This intensive 7 day course for Lifeguard Instructor candidates is by advanced registration only.
REGISTER for the course with the NJPMA by clicking the button below and completing the form. The form and course tuition ($350.00 for members and $400.00 for non–members) must be received by Al Taliaferro on or before 4:00 p.m., Friday, May 31st, 2024. Any registration after that date will be subject to a $25.00 late fee. Tuition includes the Lifeguard Instructor Manual and hip pack.
PREREQUISITES: Candidates must be at least 17 years of age as of June 14th, 2024. NO EXCEPTIONS CAN BE MADE. Candidates must possess a current American Red Cross certificate for Lifeguarding / First Aid / CPR / AED (see page 2), strong swimming skills, and pass a pre-course swimming test on June 6TH Proof of age must be presented at this screening session. A current driver’s license is acceptable proof. Photocopies of Birth Certificates must have a raised seal for acceptance as proof of age. Once the course tuition is received, you will receive an email with instructions for completing the required online portion of the Lifeguarding Instructor course, which includes a Lifeguarding knowledge test. The online portion of the course takes approximately 2 hours to complete, and must be completed before June 6th.
SCREENING INFORMATION: The Precourse Session (screening test) on June 6th will check for mastery of First Aid, CPR, swimming and Lifeguarding skills. Refunds (less NJPMA administrative and materials costs of $75.00) will be mailed only to those candidates who do not pass the screening test. Students missing a single session will be required to attend a make up session. Students missing TWO sessions will NOT be certified under any circumstance. If you think you will miss two or more sessions, do not register for this program. Attendance will be taken daily. Class sessions will be held rain or shine, or will be postponed only at the facility. Please keep this portion of the form for your personal reference.
