2011 Award Winners

 

The New Jersey Pool Managers Association is proud to present the 3rd Annual NJPMA Awards Ceremony. These awards are presented to facilities and individuals who demonstrate the following qualities:

·        Service to their facility

·        Service to the aquatic industry

·        Reflect the values and further the goals of the New Jersey Pool Managers Association

Distinguished Facility Award

            This award is presented to a facility that gives back to the Association by volunteering their site for Association events.

 

This year recipient;

Leonia Municipal Swim Club

 

Distinguished Trustee Award

            The Distinguished Trustee Award is presented to an individual whose activities best represent unselfish devotion to their facility.

 

This year recipient;

Dan Bibb served as a trustee in 2001 and as president for the 2002 season; he recently agreed to serve once again as a trustee for the Harrington Park Swim Club.  However the reason for his nomination is that he has been active as a judge and starter since 1997 and continues to serve our association, league and club in this role as contributor to the swimming program.

 

Craig Beardsley Award

            The Craig Beardsly Award is presented to an individual whose activities best represent unselfish devotion to the swimming profession as exemplified by Craig Beardsley. This award will be given to an individual who is recognized by the NJPMA as having made significant contributions in the field of swimming.

 

This year recipients;

Amanda, Amelia and Amara Rivera from Bergenfield Swim Club

 

Jerry Martino Award

            The Jerry Martino Award is presented to an individual whose activities best represent unselfish devotion to the diving profession as exemplified by Jerry Martino. This award will be given to an individual who is recognized by the NJPMA as having made significant contributions in the field of diving.

 

This year recipient;

Roy Moose; Roy has been the Dive Coach at MSC (Montvale) for the past 11 + years. He has been influential to so many of the young members of the club. He advocates for the program and always spends his free time teaching the children the fundamentals of diving. He has produced many county diving finalists and has volunteered to judge and score at all meets.

 

Joe Minervini Distinguished Service Award
            The Joe Minervini Distinguished Service Award is presented to an individual whose activities best represent unselfish devotion in service to the aquatics profession as exemplified by Joe Minervini.  This award will be given to an individual who is recognized by the NJPMA as having made significant contributions to the Association.

 

This years recipient;

 

Al Taliaferro, Teaneck Swim Club, has been an involved participant in our Association for the past 35+ years. At meetings, he thinks out loud and with reason. He is a model with his credentials that makes him the complete manager. He stays up to date with aquatics as well as the ever changing Red Cross. He leads us in training the heart of aquatics program of the pools with his leadership in WSI training and training Lifeguard Instructors.
